NBA 2K27 Cover Athletes and Editions: Wembanyama, Clark, and Rose

2K revealed NBA 2K27’s three cover athletes on July 22, 2026 — each tied to a specific edition at a distinct price point. The lineup spans the NBA’s present (Victor Wembanyama), the WNBA’s breakout star (Caitlin Clark), and a franchise legend getting his own limited SKU (Derrick Rose).

Wembanyama, the San Antonio Spurs center and first unanimous NBA Defensive Player of the Year, anchors the Standard Edition. Clark — the Indiana Fever guard and 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year — becomes the first WNBA player with her own global cover on the Deluxe Edition. Rose, the youngest MVP in league history, returns to a 2K cover for the first time since NBA 2K13, now headlining a limited Ultra Edition celebrating his career arc.

NBA 2K27 launches worldwide on September 4, 2026 on:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- PC (Steam)
- Nintendo Switch 2 (Standard Edition only for physical; Deluxe and Ultra are digital-only and not available on Switch 2)
There is no Gen 8 (PS4/Xbox One) version. Crossplay is available between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for co-op matches and online tournaments, requiring an NBA 2K Account and paid console subscription.
What’s in each edition
Standard Edition includes the base game plus a 10,000 VC pre-order bonus.
Deluxe Edition ($99.99, digital only) adds:

- MyCAREER boosts, jerseys (Wembanyama and Clark), and MyTEAM packs including a Full ’27: Series 1 Team Selection
Ultra Edition ($149.99, digital only, available through September 6) includes everything in Deluxe plus:

- Season 1 Pro Pass and Summer Season Pass Pro Pass Bundle (Seasons 7–9)
- Roses Oversize Hoodie in MyCAREER
- Guaranteed 98 OVR MyTEAM card (December 2026) and guaranteed Invincible card (May 2027) via The Exchange
- 10% loyalty discount for NBA 2K26 players pre-ordering on the same platform (through September 3)
Deluxe and Ultra Editions are not available in Belgium, Brazil, or South Korea.
Early access note
The July 22 cover reveal stated Early Access would begin August 28, 2026 at 9:00 AM PDT. However, the official FAQ and all August 2026 newsroom posts now list August 26, 2026 at 9:00 AM PT. We follow the FAQ date; if you’re planning around Early Access, double-check your platform store listing closer to launch.
